"Section" is basically a smaller, more interactive class. You will have section once a week, Monday or Tuesday mornings (right before lecture on Tuesdays). (Tuesday's lecture is 1 hours long, Thurday's is 2 hours.

Your TA will lead your section and grade your work. Sections will provide guidance for the writing assignments and will also feature demos. Around crunch time, we will review material. TAs have also been known to provide various yummy treats.

Two more things:

1) Pop Quizes will sometimes occur at the start of the section. These will be 3-5 questions directly from the reading.

2) A name will be drawn at random and that lucky person will get to enlighten us on the relevant topic of their choosing from the text for Two Whole Minutes. This will occur at the start of EVERY section.

"OH NO!" You may be thinking. "Surely I can do the reading most of the time, but what happens if I just couldn't do it one time because i'm so gosh darned busy with the rest of my academic career?"

Not to fret! The quizes and presentations will not make or break your grade. In addition, you may have ONE PASS for a presentation. We will keep track, though, so make sure you do your reading and you'll be fine!
